| Cancers Selected for Study

The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Research Network will systematically explore the entire spectrum of genomic changes involved in a number of human cancers. The cancers selected for study are chosen based on a complex set of criteria including:

• Availability of human tissue collections that meet TCGA standards for patient consent and inclusion of matched normal tissue
• Cancers with poor prognoses are prioritized when possible
